Developing a daily routine is a major part of becoming an adult—kind of like paying taxes and requesting responsible birthday gifts, like a Roomba, over things you really want, like vintage Juicy Couture velour sets (just me?).
That said, getting too stuck in your routine can get real boring real quick. Below are seven ways to mix things up just a tiny bit this week—switch up your grill game! Join in on a group run with spectacular views! Dance through a field of sunflowers! Have a line-worthy pastry with your morning coffee!
Take your pick and watch your week level up—just a bit.
Bust out the grill: These grilled peach and halloumi skewers make for a bright, beautiful, easy weeknight dinner when paired with rice. And before we know it, we’ll all be relegated to indoor cooking, so enjoy the relaxed, backyard BBQ vibes for as long as you can. Do it.

Treat yo’self: The pastries at the brand new (and gorgeous) K’far have been selling out by early afternoon, so if that’s any indication, you need to get your hands on one. Hump day down-and-outs, be gone. Do it.
The day is finally here: It’s Commotion day! AKA the day when City Fitness will take over the Fillmore for a blowout music and movement experience. The workouts are sold-out, but for $10, you can come enjoy the music, cheer everyone on, and cross off your good deed for the day—all proceeds from ticket sales go to the Make the World Better Foundation. Do it.
Fancy Cocktail Friday! That’s a thing, right? Assembly Rooftop Bar is known for the views, but they also make a mean fancy drink—Rose Gold Margarita, anyone? Do it.
Stop and smell the sunflowers: Hellerick’s Family Farm is hosting a sunflower festival, AKA the stuff Instagram dreams are made of, through Labor Day. And if strolling through a two-acre field bursting with yellow petals doesn’t sound like the perfect reprieve from the humid concrete streets of Philly, I don’t know what does. Do it.
Go for a breezy bike ride! Take your Schwinn for a spin on the the four-mile stretch of MLK drive that’s closed to traffic on weekend days—the wide, open lanes mean you can get speedy and the shade doesn’t hurt. Do it.
