If you will run for Shake Shack and Shake Shack only, there’s a free group run (which starts just a few blocks from our East Market location, FYI) this week that’s right up your alley. Below, the details on that plus six more activities, eats and workouts around town that you should pencil into your calendar.
Monday
Hydrate better: Sip-N-Glo just introduced a bright blue drink to its arsenal, dubbed the Glo-Aid, designed specifically to restore electrolytes post-workout. And it’s pretty, to boot. Do it.

Run to Shake Shack! Yep: Shake Shack. Their running group, Shack Track & Field, meets on select Tuesdays for a run to the burger joint—and participants get a free drink at the end of it. Yes, please! Do it.

Two words: Buffalo cauliflower—eat it, enjoy life, be happy. Oh! And use it as your incentive to stick with your after-work workout. Front Street Cafe has perhaps the best in the city, and it’s just a hop, skin and a throw away from City Fitness’s Fishtown outpost. Do it.
Thursday
Dance it out! Consider City Fitness’s Hip-Hop Cardio class—that’s a Zumba-style class set to hip-hop that goes down at our East Market location at 5:30 on Thursdays—the antidote to a stressful week. Do it.
Friday

Beat an evening of Netflix with an evening of nostalgia under the stars: At 9 p.m., the Oval+ is hosting an outdoor screening of Little Giants, the 1994 classic about a football team made up of misfits. Do it.
Saturday

Grab a padel! Manayunk is currently home to some pop-up padel courts designed to get folks familiar with the racquet sport. (Think: a blend of all the other racquet sports we know and love, like tennis and squash.) Beginner clinics are held on Saturdays, and after that you can rent out court time. Do it.

Fake a beach day! Grab your favorite beach read and book it to John B. Kelly pool in Fairmount Park, which offers up plenty of grass to spread a towel onto and more in-water real estate than most public pools in the city. Do it.
